What to expect...
01
Before your treatment
Following your consultation, pre-care information will be discussed with you to ensure you receive the best possible outcome from your treatment.
When you attend your appointment, it is preferable you do not wear any make-up. If you are wearing make-up, it will be removed prior to your treatment. This will avoid any risk of infection.
Although your treatment will take 30 - 60 minutes, please allow additional time for your appointment as every patient is very important to me and treated on an individual basis. You are welcome to take a seat, help yourself to the selection of refreshments in the waiting room before and after your treatment if you would like to.
02
During your treatment
If a topical anaesthetic cream is to be used, this will be applied and removed after 20-40 minutes to allow it to take effect. The areas to be treated will be cleaned, make up removed if worn, and then disinfected. Treatment may be carried out using either a small needle, a cannula (a blunt flexible needle) or both. You can usually feel the initial injection, but the procedure shouldn’t be painful as the dermal fillers we use contain lidocaine, a mild anaesthetic in which once injected will minimise discomfort during and after treatment.
Immediately after treatment it is quite normal for there to be slight redness, swelling and tenderness around the treated area. These signs will gradually disappear in a few days. It is possible that you may be able to feel where the product has been placed following treatment. This too will settle over the following days. The skin is once again cleansed and a soothing aftercare balm applied.
03
After your treatment
Please follow the aftercare advice to minimise adverse effects and maximise your treatment outcome:
Please avoid the use of makeup, touching the treated area and sweaty exercise for the rest of the day to prevent the introduction of infection to the injection sites. It is important you keep the treated area clean.
Do not have facial beauty treatments or massage for two weeks following treatment.
You will be offered a review appointment at 2 weeks after your treatment to assess your progress.
